Racing style

imageimageimage

Cheltenham, Aintree, Leopardstown and Punchestown all have early race meetings every year. They fall on the cusp of Spring so aren’t quite warm enough for bare legs (although sometimes we can be lucky) and not cold enough for thick tights.

Following the style at these race meetings online can give great inspiration on the do’s and don’ts for weather appropriate attire I have put together some style ideas for the colder race meeting and will follow it up with some ideas for spring summer racing fashion.

Hope you like the looks!

Cheltenham Fashion 2016

It was another colourful one at this years Cheltenham Festival with one of my stunning clients, Camilla Henderson, wearing an eye catching Edel Ramberg Designs hat. Last year she wore clashing colours of pinks and red but this year opted to black and blue.

She wore a colbalt blue Ted Baker coat, black shoes and a black YSL handbag teamed with one of my designs. The pieces I design for Camilla are always a little more quirky and I think suit her personality and style down to the ground. She loves colour and is really not afraid of it, she never plays it safe, instead showing her true style in her fashion choices, brave and fun!

I made Camilla a cobalt blue teardrop beret with a fan of black turkey feathers embellished with a cute little Swarovski blue crystal brooch. It was a statement piece but very easy and comfortable for her to wear when she ran down to the parade ring to cheer on her fathers success with The Queen Mother Champions Chase proving an emotional win for Sprinter Sacre.

Camilla is one of those clients I love to make hats for as I can be as adventurous as I want. I will post some older pictures of her in my pieces in the coming weeks just so you can see how fun and beautiful her sense of style is!

Ascot Throwback!

Well it’s nearly that time of year again when the amazing Royal Ascot begins across the pond and I have to admit it is the one I look forward too the most as my clients pull out all the stops for the week of racing.

When my husband and I went over as guests of one of my clients we enjoyed every second of the style, atmosphere and of course horse racing. Ascot is another level. The racecourse is world class as are the women and men dressed up for the occasion.

This is an old picture of me in the Royal Enclosure 2013 enjoying a race in the sunshine. I wore a Paper London yellow skirt with black Miss Selfridge Peplum jacket, black Louboutin heels (which killed my feet after 16 hours in them), an Alexis Bittar Lucite necklace and a large black disc hat with yellow roses and swirls. I know my colours were a bit bumble bee but I felt great in the outfit, the skirt was so comfortable and the length was appropriate for the enclosure and owners/trainers area so I was glad I chose it in the end. We were photographed lots and took plenty of photos from the second we arrived. It was our first visit to Ascot and certainly won’t be our last. We won’t make it this year but fingers crossed it is on the to do list again for next year, it really is a must! Looking forward to seeing the style again this year and popping some images up on my instagram and twitter during the event. Roll on June!!IMG_9443
